Valthaty scores 46 as Kings XI beat Royals

Paul Valthaty, the new star showed no signs of leaving the centerstage as he came up with an another crucial innings for Kings XI Punjab. In the match against Royals studded with likes of Warne, Watson & Ross Taylor, he scored a quick 46 off 31 bowls. Gilcrist & Valthaty gave Punjab a blistering start, reaching 50 in just 2.5 overs - the fastest 50 in IPL history.

After being caught off a no ball in second over, Valthaty went bersek in the third scoring 24 runs off the cueless medium pacer S Trivedi. Paul hit 2 sixes and 3 fours with the 2nd six clearing the 91 meters mark. He even hit the mighty Shane Warne for a six in the 9th over. His innings came to an end when his another hit miscued and he was caught at the long off fence.

From there on Shaun Marsh guided KXIP to a mammoth total of 195 in 20 overs. Royals were never able to recover from the beating they received and eventually succumbed to a 48 runs defeat. This is 3rd straight win for KXIP with Valthay scoring in all of them!
